Hi, I’m Tonya!
I recently graduated Valedictorian in my program for Graphic Design and Web Development. Now that school is over, I plan to work for a company that will allow me to use the skills I’ve learned while also inspiring me to learn more.
As a child, I always loved to draw, but one graphic art class I took in middle school changed my life, and my preferred art medium forever. While my strengths are mostly in digital art, I also enjoy silk screen printing, die cutting, working with epoxy resin, and t-shirt design. I love being presented with an idea, and making it a functionable (and aesthetically pleasing) product my clients are happy with.
I’ve also been a stay home mom for over 20 years. During that time, I was able to teach myself how to use design programs that allowed me to become an asset for several online communities, and my kids’ extra curricular programs. I managed content for multiple web sites and social media accounts. I created print and web ads for events, designed t-shirts, managed online groups, and organized events and fundraisers. When my kids were old enough, I decided to further my education and went back to school to become a professional Graphic Designer. I exceeded my own expectations by graduating first in my class, an achievement I am very proud of.
I believe I am the type of person to commit myself to a goal, and work hard to not only impress my clients, teachers, or superiors, but also myself. My dream is to one day see my designs used for blockbuster movie posters, ads that make people excited about products, and merchandise designs that people want to buy, wear, and share.
